Library offers scholarship for library sciences

The board of trustees of the Middletown Township Library has announced the availability of the Conover-Wihtol Scholarship for no less than $500 for graduate study in library science.

The scholarship fund was established in memory of Edith B. And Karl F. Wihtol, both longtime residents of Middletown and dedicated friends to the library.

The first consideration for eligibility will be given to the residents of Middletown, but in the absence of qualified applicants from the township, New Jersey residents will be considered. Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree or be in the final semester of undergraduate studies. The applicant will also be expected to provide evidence of acceptance for graduate work at an American Library Association-accredited school of library science.

Application forms are available from the Middletown Public Library, 55 New Monmouth Road. Applications must be postmarked no later than June 30.

For additional information call the library at (732) 617-3700.
