Community works to address aid issue

I think the residents of Roosevelt should be commended for providing an excellent example to their student population regarding the steps necessary to push the wheels of bureaucracy into action.

Concerned citizens, Board of Education members and Borough Council members have forged a strong alliance to ap-peal to legislative and Department of Education officials on the local, county and state levels. Together this little town is making a big noise and is attracting the attention of our elected officials who appear to be taking up our cause.

Presently, we are making little steps in pursuit of our goal of adjusting our District Factor Group so we can receive equitable school funding.

I want to thank the reporting and editorial staff of the Examiner for your accurate reporting and support of our endeavors.

Together, with patience and tenacity, I know we will eventually have our objective come to fruition. In the meantime, I must applaud the focused, determined campaign of the community.
