Opera will be topic of ‘Coffeehouse’ program

Early opera will be the topic of the next "East Brunswick Coffeehouse" arts program set for 7:30 p.m. March 26 at the East Brunswick Senior Center, Jean Walling Civic Center.

Irene Alm, Ph.D., assistant professor of music history at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, will present a brief history of early opera and its move from the royal courts to public theater, all illustrated with recordings.

Admission is free. Light refreshments will be served.

The program is sponsored by the East Brunswick Division of Recreation and Arts Commission and was developed and funded by the New Jersey Council for the Humanities.
