Adopt A Pet seeking home for blind chow

Sharon Gaboff of Millstone Township, the director of Adopt A Pet, has been helping animals in need for more than a decade.

The most recent animal to benefit from Gaboff’s love and patience is Princess, a blind 1-year-old chow chow. Rescued from a shelter, Princess is totally blind and had to undergo surgery on what was left of her eyes.

Adopt A Pet has placed Princess, who is housebroken, with two families, but for various reasons the adoptions did not work out and the dog was returned to Adopt A Pet, Gaboff said.

The dog will remain with Adopt A Pet for as long as it takes for her to be adopted, Gaboff said, adding that a trainer has offered his services to make sure Princess adapts to her new home.

The Allentown Garden Club will hold its next meeting on April 27 from 7-9 p.m. at the Timothy Center for Gardening (formerly the Vegetable Garden) on Route 130, Robbinsville. Barb Serinese and Liz Trible will lecture on colorful annual combinations. Participants are invited to bring containers for planting, gloves and a hand shovel. Annuals may be purchased for the hands-on workshop.

The Roosevelt PTA will hold its annual town-wide yard sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 6-7. In addition to the yard sale, May 6 will also feature the PTA plant sale and the Roosevelt Public School sixth-graders’ bake sale. The PTA will provide a detailed map of the location of all yard sales and the types of goods being sold.
