PPA
   Spring Annual 2000 will be held Saturday and Sunday at The Chapin School. The Princeton Philanthropic Association will host two days of shopping for all tastes. More than 25 boutiques will offer chocolates and candies, vintage jewelry, items for the home, whimsical gifts, toys, and clothing for women and children. Tickets are $5 at the door. Lunch will be available.
   The PPA is a volunteer organization that raises funds to support organizations assisting individuals with developmental disabilities. This year, the Spring Annual will benefit Enable, a not-for-profit organization that provides community-based support services for people with disabilities in central New Jersey. Christian Choirs
   The Community Christian Choirs, 120-voice interfaith adult, teen and children choirs will present “God’s Song!” at the Nassau Christian Center Saturday at 7:30 p.m. to benefit the Crisis Ministry of Princeton and Trenton. Crisis Ministry provides food and short-term financial assistance to poor families in emergency situations. For more information, call (609) 587-7076.
Pet Rescue
   Pet Rescue of Mercer is holding a benefit auction, “It’s Raining Cats and Dogs,” Friday at 6:30 p.m. at La Villa Ristorante on Kuser Road in Hamilton. Proceeds from the event will go toward building a no-kill shelter and spay/neuter clinic in Mercer County.
   The evening will include a silent auction, hot and cold hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. Tickets for the event are $25. Highlights of the auction include two round-trip tickets to anywhere in the Northeast from Amtrak; memorabilia from The Beatles, Gene Wilder, Vanna White, Phyllis Diller, Ed Asner, Howard Cosell, Bobby Clarke and others; limited edition M.I.    Pet Rescue of Mercer is an all volunteer, nonprofit humane organization registered in the state of New Jersey and based in Hamilton. Its focus is to publicize animals available for adoption through municipal and private shelters and to encourage people to rescue animals through adoption as opposed to buying. In 1999 alone, they were able to save more than 500 shelter animals. They have also established a foster parent program that provides shelter animals a temporary home before permanent adoption is established. ALS
   The Trenton Area ALS Support Group will hold its third Annual Ride For Life on Sunday. Ride For Life begins at Yankee Stadium and will continue on a two-week wheelchair trek to Washington, D.C.
   Meeting places are Lawrence Township Municipal Building, 2207 Lawrenceville Road, Lawrenceville, at 4 p.m.; and the New Jersey State House, 125 West State St., Trenton, at 6 p.m. Times are flexible.

Red Cross
   The Eighth Annual American Red Cross Golf Classic will be held Monday, June 5, and will include a round of golf at either Cherry Valley or Bedens Brook in Princeton. The day will consist of a buffet lunch, cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, prizes, awards and more.
   Deloitte & Touche LLP, Johnson & Johnson Consumer Co., Fleet Bank, and Merrill Lynch have helped to make this day of golfing possible.

Cancer Society
   The Mercer County Unit of the American Cancer Society invites local residents, businesses, volunteers and cancer survivors to attend the ACS Relay for Life. Attendees will enjoy a variety of activities and entertainment scheduled throughout the event, including music, food, games, contests and more.
   The ACS Relay for Life is an overnight, non-competitive team event in which team members walk or run relay-style around a local track to help support ACS cancer research, education, advocacy and patient service programs. The Relay for Life is a way to honor cancer survivors and also to remember those who have lost their battle with the disease.
   The public is invited to attend and participate. The event raises funds for the ACS through teams formed by corporations, co-workers, hospitals, club members, families, sports teams, friends, neighbors, schools, churches and many more organizations.
   The event will be held Friday, June 2, at 6 p.m., and Saturday, June 3, at 9 a.m., at the Pennington Athletic Club, 1595 Reed Road, Pennington.
