Thomas Bartaris

   Thomas “Gus” Bartaris, 72, of Lawrenceville died Friday at home.
   Born in New York, he moved to Lawrenceville 40 years ago.
   Mr. Bartaris retired from Lawrence Bar and Liquors in 198s. Previously, he owned and operated Fair Banks Furs, New York, for 20 years and Pick and Dig Nursery in Lawrenceville.
   He was an Army veteran of World War II and was part of the first occupational troops in Japan at the end of the war.
   Mr. Bartaris was a member of Presbyterian Church of Lawrenceville and of the Lawrence Lions Club for 25 years.
   Son of the late Thomas and Catherine Fritch Bartaris and brother of the late Harry Bartaris, he is survived by his wife of 46 years, Dorothy Nicholas Bartaris; four daughters and sons-in-law, Jane and Harry Mansman, and Ruth and Jerry Hawthorne, all of Lawrenceville, Jill and Stephen Matherson of San Francisco, and Catherine and Steven Goldberg of Redonda Beach, Calif.; a sister and brother-in-law, Emma and Robert Humberg of Germany; 10 grandchildren, Thomas John and Kristin Mansmann, Justin, Kellianne and Jordan Hawthorne, Nate and Paige Matherson, Max, Alexandria and Samantha Goldberg; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
   Funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Presbyterian Church of Lawrenceville, 2688 Main Street, with the Rev. H. Dana Fearon III, pastor, officiating.
   Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
   There will be no calling hours.
