The developer of the proposed senior citizen housing project on the site of the former Lawrence Drive-In on Brunswick Pike is expected to present additional testimony at tonight’s Planning Board meeting.
The Planning Board will meet at 8 p.m. to listen to the testimony from Westminster Realty Co. The meeting will be held in the Lower Level Conference Room at the municipal building.
Carriage Walk is proposed for the 15-acre former drive-in movie site that is bordered by Brunswick Pike, Allen Lane and Glenn Avenue. The property is immediately north of the Lawrence Senior Center and the Lawrence branch of the Mercer County Library, both on Darrah Lane East.
Of the 212 units, 43 will be set aside for low- and moderate-income households. The 43 units will be dispersed among the five three-story buildings. Planned amenities consist of bocci courts, shuffleboard courts and horse shoe courts. A walking path will encircle the development. The entrance to the development is proposed to be off Allen Lane.
In other business, the Planning Board will consider an application for a consolidation and minor subdivision at 157 Harding Ave., proposed by Robert E. Tomenchok.
Mr. Tomenchok wants to consolidate six small lots into two lots. One of the two newly created lots already has a house on it. The second proposed lot is vacant.
A variance for the minimum lot size is being requested for the proposed lot with a house on it. The minimum lot size is 7,500 square feet, and the lot contains 7,357 square feet. A variance also is needed for the front yard setback. The minimum front-yard setback is 30 feet, but the house is set back 24.7 feet.
