Hours: Monday and Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday, noon-8 p.m., Wednesday, 11 a.m.-8 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. (except during July and August)

Special programs: Summer Reading Program, July to August for
grades 1 to 6; adult craft evenings, monthly cultural and/or musical
entertainment programs, and outdoor summer concerts.
Library card requirements: Proof of residency in Manville (such as a
driver’s license, a utility bill delivered by the post office, etc.).
Non-residents: $5 a year
Fine for overdue books: 5 cents a day for adults, 2 cents a day for the
juvenile collection.
Fine for overdue videos or audio-visuals: $1 a day.
Community room: Available for local nonprofit civic organizations. Profit organizations may rent
the space for a $35 fee.
The Manville Public Library, established in 1960, remains independent of the county library system. In addition to the usual holdings, the library is also a repository
for local documents and memorabilia of the Johns-Manville Corp.,
with special collections on coal and asbestos. As a member of the
Raritan Valley Federation of Libraries, the Manville Library offers
reciprocal borrowing privileges with nine other area libraries, and
through the Highlands Regional Library Cooperative, offers interlibrary loan services from a CD-
based union list of regional holdings.
