All-American Baseball Camp,

the official camp of the Trenton Thunder, will hold five one-week sessions; July 2-6, July 9-13, July 16-20, July 30-Aug. 3 and Aug. 6-10 at Pennington Prep in Pennington. Overnight and day sessions are available for boys ages 7-16. A Yankee Stadium tour and weekly workouts at Waterfront Park in Trenton are included in the camp. The New Jersey ShoreCats, o

f the United States Basketball League (USBL), activated 7-0 center Mark Blount and released Alvin Robinson. Blount, a high school All-American at Oak Hill Academy in Virginia, played for two seasons at the University of Pittsburgh before declaring for the NBA draft in 1997 and being drafted by the Seattle Supersonics. After being released by the Sonics, he played in the Continental Basketball Association and International Basketball League before coming to the ShoreCats.

The ShoreCats are 6-2 in the Northern Division of the USBL. Guard Aubrey Reese was an Honorable Mention for USBL Rookie of the Week last week when he averaged 20 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.75 assists and 2.25 steals a game, leading the ShoreCats to a 3-1 record. The ShoreCats play their home games in Asbury Park’s Convention Hall. The team is home today at 7 p.m. vs. Enid, Okla., and on the weekend against Gulf Coast (Saturday, 6 p.m.) and Brooklyn (Sunday, 4 p.m.). Call (732) 922-1090 for ticket information.

The Battle of Monmouth Cobras, an under-13 boys soccer team, will hold tryouts on June 6, 8 and 13. The team is based in Old Bridge and competes in MOSA National 1. All interested field players and goalies are asked to call Kevin McMahon at (732) 583-1955 for time and location.

A summer basketball league

in Holmdel will be accepting team entries for its boys and girls fifth- and sixth-grade and seventh- and eighth-grade leagues. All games will be played outdoors. For more information call Tom Moreno at 817-1000.

The Storm, an under-10 travel/tournament baseball team, is looking for pitchers. The team will play at least five tournaments this season and the schedule works around district all-stars. Committed families and serious players only. For tryout information call (732) 536-6026.

The Manalapan Shooting Stars,

an under-11 girls soccer team, will hold a two-day tryout for the fall season in June. The Shooting Stars play in the M.O.S.A. premier division. Last season they were 10-0 and finished in first place. The Stars are looking for dedicated girls to round out their fall roster.
