Charles T. Myers, John Yurcho, Constance L. Goodwin, Henry B. Kelbaugh Sr.

Charles Thomas Myers
Retired from ETS
   Charles Thomas Myers of Princeton Township died Friday at home. He was 84.
   Born in Shanghai, China, he worked at the Educational Testing Service from 1947 to 1980, when he retired.
   A high school graduate of the Shanghai American School in 1932, he graduated in 1936 from the College of Wooster in Ohio.
   He served more than four years as an Army sergeant during World War II.
   After the war, he received a master’s degree from Teachers College, Columbia University and continued graduate work in psychology at Princeton University.
   He worked at the Johnson O’Connor Research Foundation in New York from 1946 to 1947, when he began working at Educational Testing Service in Princeton as a psychologist, mostly specializing in nonverbal reasoning tests.
   In the 1960s, he was a member of the adjunct faculty of Rutgers University, teaching test measurement at the New Brunswick and Camden campuses. He retired from ETS in 1980.
   He was a member of the American Psychological Association, Sigma Xi, and the National Council of Measurement Education. He was listed in “Who’s Who in the East” and “Men of Science.”
   He was active in Palatines to America, the Herkimer County Historical Society in New York and the Alumni Association of Shanghai American School.
   Son of the late Rev. Charles M. Myers and Mary Macphail Myers, he is survived by his wife of 52 years, Edyth Kearney Myers; daughters and son-in-law Katherine Myers Donner, Pamala Myers Bagdis and Jay Bagdis; sister Margaret Myers Stonesifer of Ohio; and grandchildren Jeffrey and Kimberly Bagdis.
   A short memorial service will be held 2 p.m. today at All Saints Church, All Saints Road, Princeton Township.
   Private burial will be at Kensico Cemetery, Valhalla, N.Y.
   Memorial contributions may be made to the Princeton First Aid and Rescue Squad or the charity of the donor’s choice.

John Yurcho
Retired from Nassau Oil
   John Yurcho of Princeton died Sunday at the Merwick unit of The Medical Center at Princeton. He was 89.
   Born in Trenton, he was a resident of Princeton most of his life.
   He was retired from the Nassau Oil-Amoco Corp. as a sales representative after more than 40 years.
   He attended Trenton High School and was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, where he was an usher for 18 years.
   Husband of the late Mabel Southard Yurcho, he is survived by son Robert J. of Hopewell and brothers Edward, George, Peter and Henry, all of Trenton.
   Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church.
   Burial will be at Princeton Cemetery.
   Calling hours will be 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at The Kimble Funeral Home, 1 Hamilton Ave., Princeton.

Constance LaPlaca Goodwin
Fashion designer
   MONROE — Constance LaPlaca Goodwin died Wednesday at Raritan Bay Medical Center. She was 90.
   Born in New York, she lived most of her life there. She was a resident of Monroe for three years.
   She was a self-employed fashion designer.
   Daughter of the late Giuseppe and Mary LaMar LaPlaca, she is survived by brothers Anthony LaPlaca and Leonard LaPlaca, both of Princeton; sister Josephine LaPlaca of New York; 11 nephews; and several nieces.
   Funeral services were held Saturday.
   Arrangements were by The Kimble Funeral Home.
Henry B. Kelbaugh Sr.
American Standard retiree
   AUSTIN, Texas — Henry Blair Kelbaugh Sr. died Saturday as a result of complications from Parkinson’s disease. He was 70.
   Born in Baltimore, he was an international businessman who pioneered worldwide joint ventures with American Standard Corp.
   He was a devoted Catholic and a world traveler.
   Son of the late Willard Sewell Kelbaugh and Dorothy Eileen Blair Kelbaugh, brother of the late Paul Willard Kelbaugh and grandfather of the late Jennifer Blair Malone, he is survived by his wife of 49 years, Virginia O’Donoghue Kelbaugh; sons Henry Jr. and Matthew; daughters Linda Kelbaugh, Tina Kelbaugh, Jennifer Malone, Dolly Kelbaugh, Margaret Kelbaugh and Pandora Wood; and eight grandchildren.
   A funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. today at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 4800 Convict Hill Road, Austin.
   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation.
