Win uncontested races for Borough Council bids

ALLENTOWN — Republicans Peter Pantages and Daniel Wimer will represent the party in the November general election for Borough Council after running unopposed in Tuesday’s primary.
Mr. Pantages, who currently is Borough Council president, received 72 votes while Mr. Wimer received 68 votes.
Council member Richard Switlik Jr., a Republican, did not seek re-election this year.
No Democratic candidates filed for their party primary. Robert O’Hare Jr. received one write-in vote.
In addition to Mayor Stuart Fierstein, the remainder of the council is Republican — Michael Schumacher, Margaret Armanente, David Strobino and Art West.
