The borough’s pools will open for the season at 11 a.m. Saturday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony featuring Mayor Angelo Corradino at Memorial Pool.
The pools at Memorial Park and Lost Valley will open for the season at noon. The pools will be open from noon to 7 p.m. every day until Sept. 2.
The 8-foot-deep adult pool at Memorial Park was rehabilitated for this year, said borough Recreation Director Richard Armstrong. A new sidewalk was installed.
There also is a 3-foot deep kiddie pool at Memorial Park, and another, 12 feet-deep pool at Cooper Pool off Cooper Street in Lost Valley.
Pool users must pay $25 a season for adults and children older than 2.
Senior citizens age 60 and older pay $20, and children 2 and younger may use the pool for free.
Season badges may be purchased at Memorial Pool when the pool is open.
The fee is a $5 increase across the board this year, the first time in four years that it has been increased, said Mr. Armstrong.
Children younger than 12 must be accompanied by a parent.
The main Memorial Pool also is available for evening parties, from 7 to 9 p.m., for $65.
The Recreation Commission has several other programs planned for the summer, including teen swim nights, aqua aerobics for adults and seniors, arts and crafts, a performing arts class, and weekly games at Memorial Pool.
