Letters shed light on Marlboro government

Your coverage of items of interest to Marlboro’s governance in the June 14 issue of the News Transcript was exemplary.

What particularly drew my attention was a letter from former councilman Tom Broderick — a Republican who served eight years, complimenting a Norman Graham and not identifying him as an officer in the Marlboro Republican Club.

Just below Mr. Broderick’s letter were letters from JoAnn Denton and Mary Singer, Democratic and Republican members of the Township Council, explaining their recent votes on the town’s budget.

People have a right to be partisan, but should not hide their political motivation under the guise of "good government."

Yes, council meetings should not go on to the morning hours, but should recess by 11 p.m. and be continued.

By publishing the three letters on the same page, you helped your readers sort out truth from fiction.
