Enough is enough. I cannot stand idly bye when the Manalapan-Englishtown Regional School District Board of Education disregards the safety of our children. They have for over five years ignored the dangers of their policy making decisions regarding buses and where they travel; or when to drop off our children.
That’s the key word — our children. These are our children and we trust they will be safe in their care. Well, how can they justify dropping a 6-year-old child off at a bus stop with no parent there to accept custody of that child?
This is a continuing problem with the board disregarding the safety of our children (and) it is no wonder because this is the same board that fought tooth and nail not to have increased security at our schools.
(It is) the same school board that sees nothing wrong in this day and age of 5- and 6-year-old children walking over five football fields in the dark in bad weather to a bus stop with no shelter. To date the policy of entering cul de sacs by buses has not been addressed. Why?
It is not surprising because the school board, (when) asked two years ago to define safety, not one member of the board knew the meaning. What will it take for the board to come into the 21st century, a tragedy? I hope and pray not.
Don’t forget April 17 when the next school board elections roll around. Than maybe, just maybe, you’ll vote for someone who has a child in the system and cares what you think.
On another note, why does this board approve of teachers that are not the best for the job?
Why do they continue to hire teachers less qualified than others that have applied for the same position?
It appears they have no regard for the standards the children must conform to (in order to) compete in this world; With less than the best instruction how can they? Remember, these are our schools.
Our children’s future depends on it. Some of you will remember I ran for a school board seat last April. The issues are the same. The stakes are the same. I will with the help of G-d run again next April. Bless you all.
