Princeton Photo Network has announced a partnership with Gerard Photography of Shrewsbury. Gerard will join other Princeton Photo Network members Gabelli Studio, Verona, and Clair Pruett Studios, with locations in Pennsylvania and Delaware.
Gerard Photography was founded in the 1960s and has emerged as a successful wedding, portrait and school portrait studio. Joel Gerard, who has owned the studio since 1971, has earned numerous awards and degrees including Photographer of the Year in central New Jersey twice.
Princeton Photo Network was founded in 1998 by Henry Jackson of Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette. The network was formed to provide marketing, Internet and back-office expertise to photography studios. Its chief executive officer, David Bloom of Middletown, and chief operating officer, Michael Doyle, contribute a combined experience of 50 years.
Shore preservationists receive $500 grant
A grant of $500 was recently presented to Clean Ocean Action by Ted D. Sidun, senior director of the John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank.
Accepting the grant was Cynthia A. Zipf, Clean Ocean Action executive director. The grant was used toward the Annual Beach Sweep, which brings volunteers to the shore to "sweep" New Jersey’s coastline.
LWV holds convention, honors members
The annual convention of the Inter-League Organization of the Monmouth County League of Women Voters was held recently at Brookdale Community College, Lincroft, with speaker Superior Court Judge John D’Amico. The Inter-League Organization coordinates Monmouth County league activities, whereas the leagues of the greater Red Bank area, the township of Ocean, and Holmdel/Colts Neck carry out league activities which are local to their areas. The Middletown league recently voted to join with the Red Bank area league.
Kay Jensen, Fair Haven, was presented with the Marie Curtis Award for 2000. This award is in recognition of Jensen’s commitment to the LWV at the local, county and state levels. Certificates of appreciation were presented to Ruth Lipman, Colts Neck, and Sally Madden, Ocean, for their leadership and dedication.
Elected officers are Zena Gurman, Tinton Falls; Don Curtis, township of Ocean; Nancy Polan, Holmdel; and Evelyn Graff, Spring Lake. Second-year officers are Lila Singer, Tinton Falls; Janet Ferrante, Sea Girt; Fran Covert and Elaine Anderson, both of Middletown; and Louise Usechak and Minna Lee, both of Tinton Falls.
