HOWELL — The complete renovation of the building that housed the Great American Flea Market on Route 9 north at West Farms Road is part of a process that will transform it into a new office center to be called Regal Plaza.

Carey Tajfel, vice president of The Tajfel Group, real estate developers and investors, East Windsor, told the News Transcript his company "focuses on turnaround properties in areas of growth; we thought it had potential."

He said when the project is completed there will be about 15 1,200-square-foot offices on the ground floor and 15 800- to 1,200-square-foot offices on the second floor.

Tajfel said there will be a self-storage facility constructed in back of the existing building.

In the future, a hotel may be planned for the site, he said, adding that if that idea doesn’t pan out, the self-storage facility will be expanded.

He said an October completion date is planned for the site.
