NAPLES, Fla. – Arthur C. "Chet" Williams Jr., 78, died July 13 at Naples Community Hospital.
Born in New Castle, Pa., he lived in Lawrence 43 years before moving to Naples in 1988.
He retired as a master plumber and pipe fitter with John A. Roebling’s Sons Co. and Colorado Fuel & Iron Corp. Previously, he worked seven years in building maintenance at Rider University, Lawrence, and owned Chet Williams Plumbing and Heating co.
Mr. Williams was a Navy veteran of World War II.
He was a member of Masonic Gothic Fraternal Lodge, 270 F&AM and Slackwood Volunteer Fire Co., Lawrence.
Son of the late Arthur C. Williams Sr. and Ruth Williams and husband of the late Doris J. Williams, he is survived by his wife, Madeline S. Williams; a son and daughter-in-law, Arthur C. III and Patricia G. Williams of Lawrence; three daughters and sons-in-law, Darlene and Harold Youmans of Riverview, Janice and Joseph Caloiaro of Lawrence and Christine and John Shovlin of Allentown,; a sister, Eleanor Lawton of Waretown,; several grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The funeral will be private.
