Mable L. Counts, 62, died July 8 at home.
Born in Trenton, she was a life-long resident.
Mrs. Counts was a supervising clerk with the Mercer County Prosecutors Office.
She was a member of St. Paul AME Zion Church and its Stewardess Board One, Senior Choir and O.R. Lyons Mass Choir, and was soloist at 8 a.m. worship. She taught Sunday school and was missionary of its Parent Body and secretary of the Local Lay Council and the Y’s. She was treasurer of Camden District Lay Council and correspondence secretary of the Women’s Home and Overseas Missionary Society. Mrs. Counts traveled with the Lyonnelis as a soprano more than 20 years.
She was a 1956 graduate of Trenton Central High School.
Daughter of the late Leo Johnson, and sister of the late Leo T. II and James B., she is survived by her husband, David; two sons and a daughter-in-law, David M. and Monica Counts of Marietta, Ga., and Karey M. Counts of Trenton; a daughter, Patrice S. Counts of Monmouth Junction; her mother, Lois Johnson of Trenton; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Dorothy and David Stewart of Ewing, Yvonne and Harvey Goolsby of Trenton and Sheila Ann Robinson of Lawrenceville; an aunt; four grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral was Friday at St. Paul AME Zion Church, 308 N. Willow St., with the Rev. Keith Tillett, pastor, officiating.
Burial was in Ewing Cemetery.
