Robert D. Woodbury Sr., 68, of Kendall Park died suddenly at home on Friday.
Born in Queens, N.Y., he lived in Middlebush, residing the past 16 years in the Kendall Park section of South Brunswick.
He was a fireman and locomotive engineer, working for the Pennsylvania Railroad, Conrail, retiring in 1994 from NJ Transit after 40 years.
He was a sergeant in the Marines during the Korean conflict.
Surviving are his wife, Eileen B. Woodbury; five sons, Robert Jr. of Flemington, Michael of Oakhurst, Thomas of Parlin, Gregory of North Brunswick and Glenn of Manlius, N.Y.; four daughters, Deborah Woodbury of Morristown, Christine Woodbury of Franklin, Janine Brys of North Brunswick and Amy Woodbury of Kendall Park; a brother, Andrew of Palm Springs, Calif.; a sister, Barbara Lagarenne of Bernardsville; and 18 grandchildren.
Services were held Tuesday at St. Augustine of Canterbury Church, Henderson Road, Kendall Park.
Burial was at Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick.
