French film to be shown
The South Brunswick Library’s Foreign Film Festival will take place Thursday, Aug. 3, 7 p.m. with the French movie, "When the Cat’s Away." The library is located at 110 Kingston Lane, Monmouth Junction. Seating is limited.
Indian culture to be celebrated
Aug. 3-5, the library will be celebrating aspects of Indian culture. Thursday, Aug. 3, 4 p.m., there will be a Mehndi art demonstration. Friday, Aug. 4, 4 p.m., there will be a saari presentation, including a chance to try on one of these beautiful Indian garments. Saturday, Aug. 5, 2-3 p.m., Ramya Ramnarayan from the Nrityanjali Institute of Dance will be performing for all ages. Space is limited for some events and registration is recommended. Gospel music play to open
The Abundant Life Family Worship Church presents the 10th anniversary celebration of the gospel musical, "Gee Whiz, God Is!" Written by Carol and Ashley Hall of Kendall Park, "Gee Whiz, God Is!" premiered at the Lambs Theater, New York, in the heart of the Broadway district to sold out audiences before traveling abroad. The play is full of dancing and shouting and features larger than life characters in their attempt to recruit young Mattie as their newest convert. This gospel celebration is blessed to have as its special guest, Grammy Award winning gospel recording artist, Hezekiah Walker, the Rev. George C. Searight and choreographer Theara Ward. "Gee Whiz, God Is!" promises to be a hit you will not want to miss. The play will open at the Tony Award winning Crossroads Theatre, 7 Livingston Ave., New Brunswick, Friday, Aug. 4, 7:30 p.m. The remaining shows are Saturday, Aug. 5, 3 and 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 6, 3 p.m. For more information and ticket reservations, call (732) 545-3897.
