WEST WINDSOR – Lucille E. Grieves of the Princeton Junction section of West Windsor died Tuesday at The Medical Center at Princeton. She was 94.
Born in Montandon, Pa., she lived in Milton, Pa., for many years before moving to West Windsor in 1962.
A graduate of Milton High School, she retired as a collection supervisor in 1973 after 33 years at the National State Bank of New Jersey, Newark.
She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Messiah in Princeton.
Wife of the late Walter C. Grieves, she is survived by sons and daughters-in-law Richard W. and Carol Grieves of Corona-Del-Mar, Calif., and Hirshal H. and Lois Grieves of Hopewell; brother Noel Bingaman of Milton, Pa.; grandchildren Cindy Oliver, Jeffrey Grieves, Jennifer Grieves, Elizabeth McElroy and Walter Grieves; and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be 1 p.m. today (Aug. 11) at Princeton Cemetery.

Skilled cabinetmaker
HIGHTSTOWN – Mel Robert Coakley died July 27 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. He was 57.
Born in Flushing, N.Y., he grew up in Metuchen and moved to the Hightstown area 15 years ago.
He was vice president of operations for Midwest Mechanical Contractors of Parsippany and an accomplished cabinetmaker.
He was a graduate of Metuchen High School and attended Rutgers University.
He lived in Nova Scotia where he was a teacher of cabinetmaking. He created Rosewood Ventures, Ltd., a furniture design and construction company in Canada, which he operated for eight years.
He is survived by his mother, Anne Coakley of Metuchen; Linda Coakley and the couple’s daughter, Chelsea Morgan Coakley, at home; sister and brother-in-law Joanne and Dr. Robert Turano of New York; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Aug. 21 in St. Francis Cathedral, Main Street, Metuchen.
A later memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Sept. 16 in Dutch Neck Presbyterian Church, South Mill Road, West Windsor.

James J. Moran Jr.
Sister lives in Princeton
PHILADELPHIA – James J. Moran Jr. of the Overbrook section of Philadelphia died Monday. He was 59.
He was a lifelong Philadelphia resident.
Son of the late James J. and Inez Burke Moran Sr., stepson of the late Margaret Ross Moran, he is survived by sisters Susan Ryan of Berwyn, Pa. and Margaret Moran of Princeton; six nephews; one niece; two great-nephews and one great-niece.
A funeral Mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, 63rd and Lancaster Avenue, Philadelphia. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland, N.J.
Relatives and friends will be received after 10 a.m. at the church.

Dr. Michael Burnhill

MONTGOMERY – Dr. Michael Seth Burnhill of the Belle Mead section of Montgomery died Aug. 4 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. He was 72.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he lived in Chatham, Pa., before moving to Belle Mead.
He was in private practice as a consultant gynecologist, a clinical professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and a peer reviewer for the International Journal of Gynecology and Obstetrics and American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
He graduated from Syracuse University, the University of Vermont College of Medicine, and received a doctorate from Princeton University.
He served in the Navy, achieving the rank of lieutenant.
Dr. Burnhill was a member of the National Medical Committee and a former board member of Planned Parenthood Federation of America as well as a medical advisor of the Policy Holders Committee; and a vice president of the National Abortion Federation. He was vice president and president of the Association of Planned Parenthood.
Dr. Burnhill was a member and past president of the Association of Reproductive Health Professionals. He was appointed to many professional and academic institutions, most recently as senior attending physician at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick.
He held 11 patents and received more than 12 research grants.
Son of the late Charles Birnberg, he is survived by his mother, Lillian Birnberg, of Coconut Creek, Fla.; daughter Lauren Burnhill of Miami; sons David of Rockville, Md. and Christopher Forrest of Tucson, Ariz.; and sister Marian Mintzer of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
