Ruth M. Harris Tell
   CROSSWICKS – Ruth M. Harris Tell, 79, of Crosswicks died July 31 in Select Specialty Hospital, Philadelphia.
   Born in Hammonton, she resided in Crosswicks 40 years.
   Mrs. Tell was the daughter of the late James and Susan Friedley Harris. She was the wife of the late Girard P. Tell.
   She is survived by two daughters, Joan Wieszczek of Crosswicks and Jeanne Clark of Vero Beach, Fla.; two sons, Girard of Hammonton and John of Mays Landing; 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and 2 nephews.
   The funeral was held at Koschek and Porter Funeral Directors in Roebling.
   Burial was in Greenmount Cemetery, Hammonton.

John George
Schawaroch
   MANSFIELD – John George Schawaroch, 79, Aug. 6 at home.
   Born in Brooklyn, N.Y. he lived in Glendale, N.Y. and Long Island, N.Y., before living in Columbus and Venice, Fla.
   Mr. Schawaroch was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving as a corpsman and x-ray technician at a field hospital.
   He studied at Long Island University and joined the New York Police Department in 1947, attaining the rank of assistant chief. He planned the protection of visiting dignitaries and planned the route for the city’s first five-borough marathon.
   For six years, he served on the Long Term Care Ombudsman Council and the American Association of Retired Person’s State Legislative Committee, and was a participant in the voter education unit with the National Council and AARP/VOTE.
   In 1993, Florida Gov. Lawton Chiles appointed Mr. Schawaroch as consumer advocate to the State Insurance Commission dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Andrew.
   He is survived by his wife, Marie; two daughters, Lorraine Trexler of Kensington, Md. and Andrea Schawaroch of Germantown, Md.; a son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Nancy of Ashburn, Va.; five grandchildren, Adam, Emily and Michael Trexler, and Katherine and Jean Schawaroch; and other relatives.
   The funeral was held at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mount Holly.
   Burial was in St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, N.Y.
   Arrangements were by Perinchief Chapels, 438 High St., Mount Holly.
Anthony Piro
   CHESTERFIELD – Anthony Piro, 86, died Aug. 7 at Hamilton Continuing Care Center, Hamilton.
   Born in Phillipsburg, he lived in Morrisville, Pa., more than 75 years before moving to Chesterfield.
   Mr. Piro retired from Vulcanized Rubber and Plastics Co., Morrisville.
   He was a member of Calvary Full Gospel Church and was church organist more than 15 years.
   Son of the late Ralph and Elvira Falcone Piro, and husband of the late Agnes Sinacore Piro, he is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Elvira M. and William R. Puglia of Chesterfield; a brother, Joseph, and a sister, Mary Ferri, both of Yardley, Pa.; two granddaughters, Michelle and Carolyn Puglia; and nieces and nephews.
   The funeral was held at J. Hooper Funeral Chapel, Morrisville, with the Rev. David Farina officiating.
   Burial was in Morrisville Cemetery.
Jean A. Budassi
   BORDENTOWN CITY – Jean A. Budassi, 79, of Bordentown City, died Aug. 4 at Capital Health System at Mercer.
   Born in Trenton, she was a Bordentown City resident for over 44 years.
   She was a real estate broker for Thomas Faherty Real Estate for over 28 years and retired in 1979. She was a member of the New Jersey Realtors Association.
   She is survived by her husband, Remo G. Budassi; one daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Pasquale J. Dileo of Bordentown City; one brother and sister-in-law, Robert W. and Katherine Tootell of Morrisville, Pa.; two granddaughters, Jeanne Hollopeter and her husband, Todd, of Bordentown and Jessica Dileo of Bordentown; and nieces and nephews.
   Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family from the Peppler Funeral Home, Bordentown City.
   There will be no calling hours.

Anna Rotholz
   BORDENTOWN CITY – Anna Rotholz, 82, died July 30 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton.
   Born in Vienna, Austria, she fled Europe during World War II. She lived in a refuge settlement in the Dominican Republic before coming to the United States. She lived in Bergenfield more than 40 years before moving to Bordentown several years ago.
   Mrs. Rotholz was a homemaker and worked as a nursery school teacher and seamstress.
   She won many prizes for her oil paintings in local contests.
   Mrs. Rotholz was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bordentown, the Women’s Bible Study Group and Bordentown Golden Years Luncheon Club.
   She is survived by her husband, Martin Rotholz; two sons, Max and Ralph Rotholz of Coconut Creek, Fla.; a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Rick Remington of Bordentown; three grandchildren, Jessica, Christopher and Miranda Remington and cousins in Austria.
   The funeral was held at the First Presbyterian Church of Bordentown, with the Rev. Kimberly Long officiating.
   Burial was in Bordentown Cemetery.

Blanche Arrison
Carhart
   HAMILTON – Blanche Arrison Carhart, 88, died July 29 at home.
   Born in Trenton, she was a lifelong area resident.
   Mrs. Carhart was a homemaker.
   Wife of the late Harold R. Carhart, she is survived by a daughter, Doris Bunda of Hamilton; a brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Joan Arrison of Bordentown; three grandchildren, Joanne Fish, Darlene Werner and Joseph F. Bunda; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
   The funeral was held at Saul Memorial Home, Trenton.
   Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.
Lt. Col. Donald
Wilson Atcheson Jr.
   FAIRFAX,Va. – Lt. Col. Donald Wilson Atcheson, Jr., United States Army Retired of Fairfax, Va., died July 28 at his residence.
   He was born in Newark and resided in Nutley in his early years.
   He had resided in Virginia the past 19 years.
   He was employed by Avanco International, Inc. as a senior analyst.
   He was a graduate of The Citadel in 1963. He earned a Master’s Degree from the University of Kansas in 1974.
   During his 20 years in the Military Intelligence Corps, he served in Heidelberg, Germany, the Department of the Army Staff, The Defense Intelligence Agency and as Commander of the 902 Military Intelligence Battalion at The Presidio of San Francisco.
   He also served two tours of duty in Vietnam.
   Among his assignments with DIA, he served as a representative to the Strategic Arms Limitation Talks in Geneva, Switzerland.
   He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Ann Panebianco Atcheson, his mother, Iola Atcheson of Baja, Mexico, a sister, Susan Faulkner of Baja, Mexico, his mother-in-law, Teresa Russo of Yardville, a brother-in-law, Lawrence Panebianco of Yardville, two sisters-in-law, Antoinette McCluskey of Mesquite, Nevada and Margaret Panebianco of Bordentown, 13 nieces and nephews and 9 grand nieces and nephews.
   Funeral services were held from the Huber-Moore Funeral Home, Bordentown with the Rev. Neill Tolboom officiating.
   Entombment followed in St. Mary’s Mausoleum, Bordentown Township.

Veronica E. Steffen
   HAMILTON – Veronica E. Steffen, 69, died Aug. 4 at home.
   Born in Trenton, she was a lifelong area resident.
   Mrs. Steffen retired from the Food Service Department of Educational Testing Center in Lawrence in 1993 after 15 years.
   She was a member of Lennoxville Athletic Clubs Women Auxiliary.
   Mrs. Steffen enjoyed traveling.
   She graduated from Trenton Central High School.
   Daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Wittlif Barry, she is survived by her husband of 51 years, Robert A. Steffen; three sons and daughters-in-law, Albert and Catherine Steffen of New Egypt, Edward and Krystine Steffen of Yardville and Michael and Margaret Steffen of Bordentown Township; a daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Robert McQueen of Hamilton; 10 grandchildren, Robert II, Jennifer, Edward, Lauryn, Melissa, Mandi and Michael II Steffen, and Kaitlyn, Kerri and Kyle McQueen; and three cousins.
   Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Gregory the Great Roman Catholic Church, Hamilton.
   Burial was in Riverview Cemetery, Trenton.

Albert C. Greco
   LAWRENCE – Albert C. Greco, 81, died Aug. 4 at St. Francis Medical Center, Trenton.
   Born in Trenton, he lived in Yardley, Pa. for 42 years before moving to Lawrence five years ago.
   Mr. Greco retired in 1977 after 45 years as a floor covering contractor. He also owned the Rug Shop in Trenton.
   He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.
   Mr. Greco was a fourth degree knight of the Knights of Columbus Council 3673, St. John Neumann Assembly, Philadelphia, and a third degree knight of the Knights of Columbus Council 3673, Father Joseph Gallagher Council. He was a Morrisville, Pa., councilman from 1950 to 1954.
   Son of the late Pasquale and Anna Serafine Greco and brother of the late Faye Greco, he is survived by his wife, Nellie Massi Greco; a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Albert N. and Elaine Greco of Bergenfield; two daughters and a son-in-law, Joyce Cappa of Newtown, Pa., and Jane and Joseph Golden of Bordentown Township; a brother, Thomas of Hamilton; five sisters, Willa Rhodes of Treasure Island, Fla., Connie Maira of Lawrenceville, Helen Meany of New Port Richey, Fla., Virginia Zalescik of Hamilton and Dr. Dolores Kelley of Claremont, Ca; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
   The funeral was held at Brenna Funeral Home, Trenton.
   Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, Trenton.
   Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton.
