Volunteers helped to make local golf tournament a real success

In a day and age when peoples’ lives seem so cluttered and cumbersome, it seems virtually impossible to imagine that close to 200 people would give up their weekend to volunteer.

During the week of July 12, when the SBC Futures Golf Classic came to the Colts Neck Golf Course this impossible concept was a refreshing reality.

The SBC Futures Tour is the official developmental tour for the Ladies Professional Golf Association. Approximately 145 professional women golfers came to Colts Neck looking to walk away with a victory.

However, these tournaments, which take place across the country, would not be possible without the assistance of volunteers from the local community.

The Mon-mouth Council of Girl Scouts, as the charity of choice for the event, was responsible for organizing and coordinating all the volunteers over the course of the week.

It is our extreme honor to extend a heartfelt thanks to all those who gave up their valuable time and put their busy schedules on hold to offer help to others when it was needed.

The Monmouth Council of Girl Scouts appreciates the support you showed to our organization and to the furthering of professional women’s golf. Two causes could not have meshed better.

A breath of fresh air has been brought into the mundane monotony of everyday life.

Thanks to people like our volunteers, our event was a giant success because it brought people together and highlighted the best part of human beings — their unselfish nature to give of themselves to help others.

The Monmouth Council of Girl Scouts wishes to thank all those who helped, participated or in some way gave a little of themselves to help make the SBC Futures Tour stop at Colts Neck Golf Course one to remember.
