WASHINGTON – The school district’s administrative offices will be moving from Pond Road Middle School in order to gain more classroom space.
Superintendent Paul Harren said the offices will be moved sometime this month to a storefront in the Foxmoor Shopping Center on Route 33 in the township.
The seven-person administrative team will occupy a 3,000-square-foot office in the shopping center, he said. The district has a one-year lease for $54,000.
The team includes the superintendent, business administrator, transportation director, network administrator, accounts payable and secretaries.
When the Pond Road Middle School was reconfigured early last year to make room for more classrooms, the administrative offices were converted into classrooms.
Then the offices were moved from the main entrance to the back of the school into a classroom. That space will return to a classroom next year.
Mr. Harren said it isn’t known how long the offices will be at the Foxmoor Shopping Center.
