   Timberlane open house
The Timberlane Middle School staff and admistration invites students and parents of the incoming sixth grade class to an open house on Monday, Aug. 28, from 1-2:30 p.m.
Students and parents may walk through the building to become familiar with the layout and the classroom locations.
Sixth grade students will receive their schedules on Wednesday, Sept. 6, when they attend the special orientation session from 7:45 to 11:45 a.m.
Timberlane turns trash into cash
Timberlane Middle School students and parents have become involved in a nationwide print cartridge collection crusade called ETCEP (Educational Technology and Conservation Exchange Program).
ETCEP provides an opportunity for schools and communities to exchange empty laser and inkjet cartridges for more than 5000 different free hardware and software technology products. These cartridges are found in computer printers, desktop copiers and fax machines.
Area businesses and organizations can register for the ETCEP Adopt-a-School Program by going online at www.etcep.com/adoptaschool.htm. Timberlane’s school ID number is 8021.
There is no cost involved in participating. Drop-off sites are located at Timberlane (main office), Mercer County Library and Pennington Quality Market.
Toll Gate doing cartridge recycling
Students at Toll Gate Grammar School are learning a lesson about recycling while earning free computer technology. They are participating in a program called ETCEP, otherwise known as Educational Technology and Conservation Exchange Program.
ETCEP encourages schools to collect empty laser and inkjet cartridges from their community. Empty cartridges earn points, which are exchanged for over 5000 hardware and software technology products. For the community’s convenience, a cartridge drop-off site has been set up at 141 S. Main St., Pennington.
Local companies interested in demonstrating their commitment to education and the environment can participate in the ETCEP Adopt-A-School Program. By adopting Toll Gate Grammar, local businesses pledge their empty laser and inkjet cartridges to the school. There is never a cost involved in participating and free, prepaid shipping boxes are sent to return collected cartridges. To learn more about supporting Toll Gate Grammar, call Ms. Steffens at 737-2176 or Sally Fabrizio at 730-8593.
