Valley Chorus has welcome event

Tired of singing to the shower walls? Looking for a congenial group of singers to learn and perform a wide variety of choral music with you? Meet the Hopewell Valley Chorus!
On Sept. 11 at 7 p.m., the chorus will hold a "Welcome to Chorus" rehearsal, the first of its 2000-2001 concert season. Members invite all interested singers to come.
For old members, the evening offers the chance to sing with friends after a summer’s rest. Prospective members will find a group of like-minded singers ready to begin work on this year’s holiday concert. Director Patrick K. Freer has chosen the winter program, which will include John Rutter’s Magnificat and the Gospel Magnificat by Robert Ray. Arrangements of traditional holiday music also will be on the program.
"Welcome to Chorus" takes place in the Music Room at Hopewell Valley Central High School, where the 50-member Hopewell Valley Chorus rehearses every Monday from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. There are no auditions for membership. Seasonal dues are $25, with a one-time-only $10 music deposit.
For general information, visit the chorus’ web site at http://www.princetonol.com/groups/hvchorus or call Amy Secula at (908) 237-2140 or Carole Allison at 730-1343.
Funding for the Hopewell Valley Chorus has been made possible in part by the Mercer County Cultural and Heritage Commission through a grant from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts.
