BORDENTOWN CITY
   At 8:35 a.m. Sunday, a resident reported smoke coming from the roof of a house on East Burlington Street and an activated smoke alarm at the residence, said police.
   The resident assisted Charles Williams, 63, an occupant of the burning house, out of the building, said police. Mr. Williams told police he did not know if there were any other people in the building at the time, said police.
   Firefighters and equipment from Bordentown Hope Hose Humane, Consolidated Fire Company, Derby Fire Company, and Mission Fire Company, as well as rescue and EMS personnel from Hope Hose Humane, and Care One Paramedics from Rancocas Memorial Hospital responded to the incident, said police.
   Police said the fire was believed to have started in a second-floor bedroom by a candle which was left burning and unattended. There were four other occupants of the apartment who were not at home at the time of the fire, said police.
   Residents of the extensively damaged building were making arrangements to stay with friends and family members, said police.
FLORENCE
   Police reported observing an individual for whom they had an active warrant from Burlington Township in the parking lot of the Wawa located at Fifth and Broad streets in Florence.
   After confirming the warrant for Charles Rasmussen, 21, of Third Street, police said they placed him under arrest Aug. 23 at 10:30 p.m. Police said the defendant then fled, and during a brief chase on foot, Patrolman Albert Jacoby reported seeing Mr. Rasmussen throw an object into a secured parking area on Broad Street.
   After arresting Mr. Rasmussen, police said they found the thrown object, which was less than 50 grams of marijuana.
   Mr. Rasmussen was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession within 1,000 feet of a school zone, and resisting arrest. Mr. Rasmussen was transported to Burlington County Jail in lieu of $2,500 bail.
BORDENTOWN TOWNSHIP
   Jean Y. Shick of New York was issued a summons for careless driving at 2:43 p.m. Aug. 6, police said.
   According to police, Ms. Shick was driving her 1994 BMW when she made a left turn onto Old York Road from Rising Sun Road. The vehicle’s right wheel stuck toward the left and the BMW collided head-on with a 1994 Chevy driven by Lynwood A. Batts of Willingboro.
   Officers at the scene saw Metro/Suburban Ambulance Service assisting passengers in Mr. Batts’ vehicle. Derby and Hope Hose Emergency Medical Services arrived on the scene to assist and transported four passengers from Mr. Batts’ vehicle to the hospital.
   Both vehicles were towed from the scene and Ms. Shick’s vehicle was impounded for inspection. Neither driver required medical attention.
   At 12:43 p.m. Aug. 14 James L. Edwards of Florida was issued a summons for failure to yield the right of way after emerging from a private roadway, police said.
   According to police, Brandess E. Silver of Bordentown was traveling north on Rising Sun Road approaching the Petro Truck Stop.
   The 1998 black Kenworth tractor-trailer driven by Mr. Edwards was exiting the Petro Truck Stop and approaching Rising Sun Road, police said.
   According to police, Mr. Edwards stated a truck before him had turned right and he proceeded to make a left turn onto Rising Sun Road in front of Ms. Silver’s 1991 Mazda.
   Ms. Silver’s vehicle struck Mr. Edwards’ left rear tractor tire, and the left side wheel dolly of the tractor, police said. Mr. Edwards was not injured in the crash, said police.
   Ms. Silver’s vehicle sustained heavy damage to the front end, the right side, and the windows, police said.
   According to police, Ms. Silver’s right leg was stuck under the wheel and console area of her vehicle. Hope Hose Humane Company and Mission Fire Company arrived on the scene to assist Ms. Silver, police said.
   Ms. Silver, was transported to Helene Fuld Medical Center by Derby Ambulance Squad, to be treated for a compound fracture of the lower right leg, and cuts and abrasions, police said.
   Carl M. Immordino of Bordentown was issued summonses for driving while intoxicated, impeding the flow of traffic, refusal to submit to a breath test, operating while suspended, failure to wear a seat belt, consuming alcohol in a vehicle and for being an unlicensed driver, according to police reports.
   At 3:26 a.m. Aug. 20 police found Mr. Immordino in his vehicle at the intersection of Route 206 and Route 545, police said.
   According to police, the vehicle was blocking the passage of other vehicles. Mr. Immordino was located behind the wheel with his foot on the brake and the vehicle transmission in reverse, police said.
   Police opened the door and placed the vehicle in park and remove the keys from the ignition, police said.
