II sympathize with the Marl-boro residents who have experienced a lack of responsiveness from elected officials regarding complaints. From September 1998 to October 1999, I and three other residents of Jackson Way wrote letters, sent faxes and left telephone messages for the mayor and road department regarding the unsafe and poor condition of our street.
All of these went unanswered, and to this day the street surface remains in a poor and unsafe condition. Perhaps Marlboro’s public information director, Stephanie Luftglass, who responded with a letter to your newspaper regarding other citizens’ complaints, can address why Mayor Matthew Scannapieco and road department officials chose to ignore our complaints.
