Township seeks to map traffic habits

The township is asking residents to provide insight into their transportation habits.
The township, working in conjunction with the Greater Mercer Transportation Association, sent out transportation surveys to all South Brunswick residents earlier this month to help determine the transportation patterns and needs of the area.
"We want to know if certain transportation options were available, would people use them," said Township Manager Matt Watkins.
The questionnaire asks what mode of transportation people currently use, where are they going to, and what forms of transportation do residents think would be useful, including questions about adding another Park and Ride facility in the township.
Residents are urged to complete these questioners and send then in. Residents can also fill out a questionnaire at the Web site http://www.gmtma.org/sbsurvey.htm
The township and the transportation association will assess the transportation habits of residents in order to direct transportation planning.
"We’re just looking for direction from residents about what should be done in the township," said Lt. Ronald Schmalz, public affairs coordinator.
