WEST AMWELL – Habitat for Humanity will give a presentation to the Connaught Hill homeowners association Oct. 5 at the West Amwell Township municipal complex.
The public is invited to attend the session at 7 p.m. in the main meeting room.
Raritan Valley Habitat for Humanity Resource Development Manager Pam Ely will discuss the organization’s plans for purchasing a vacant lot on Connaught Hill and building an affordable housing unit for a qualified low-income family or individual.
The group is seeking volunteers to commit to the project as well as contractors and a family or individual to move into the Habitat home. Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit Christian ministry. The group is under contract to develop five other properties in Hunterdon and Somerset counties.
Connaught Hill residents have been working for months to clean up their neighborhood, which straddles the Lambertville and West Amwell borders on a remote hillside east of Route 179.
The homeowners association is seeking volunteers to help with a community-wide clean set for Oct. 28 between 9 a.m. and noon. Anyone who would like to help should contact Karen Rissmiller at 397-4169.
Local Boy Scout troops have volunteered to do an interim cleanup Oct. 14, starting around 9:30 a.m.
