I am greatly amused by the letter from Gert Feldman published in the Sept. 27 News Transcript. This is a continuing attempt on her part to milk as much publicity as possible out of the installation of a traffic light on Union Hill Road at the intersection of Wild Turkey Way.
Apparently she is not about to let us forget that she "carried the torch" for this traffic light. Even she should recognize that were it not for the support and cooperation of the present township administration there still would not be a traffic light in that area.
Now Ms. Feldman is teaching us how to cross the street. Any school child knows that you must wait for the light to change and then hurry across as quickly as possible.
Ms. Feldman fails to recognize that she is addressing adult community (residents) who have learned a long time ago that each of us must take responsibility for our actions and safety. Her crude attempt at using scare tactics when crossing the street is a joke.
Perhaps Ms. Feldman should station herself at that street crossing and assist everyone across. That would be a real community service.
The time is long overdue to put the issue of the Union Hill Road traffic light to rest. It is there and working. Perhaps Gert Feldman will find another issue to crusade. This one is finished.
