I grew up in Whittier Oaks West and have lived here for 30 years. I am ashamed to see what is happening to our development. Being one of the first developments to be built in Marlboro, our roads and sidewalks have begun to show needs for repair.
Our roads are cracking and have many potholes, and our sidewalks are collapsing and crumbling. The road department on a few occasions has dropped shovels of loose tar into the potholes, which is then left for the residents to drive over and pack down.
This has caused an unsightly mess throughout the neighborhood. In many parts of the development the sidewalks have collapsed to the point of causing a danger for anybody to walk on.
I have called engineering many times regarding these problems and their answer to me is, "We do not have it in our budget."
How long do we have to wait before the township finds it in their budget to address our problems the right way? We take pride in our homes, too, and we do not appreciate being pushed to the side and forgotten.
