   BORDENTOWN CITY – Margaret T. "Peg" Foultz, 87, died Oct. 11 at Virtua-Memorial Hospital of Burlington County, Mount Holly.
   Born in Bordentown, she was a lifelong resident.
   She retired from the state of New Jersey where she was a special assistant working in the governor’s office during the Hughes, Cahill, Byrne and Kean administrations.
   She was a member and deacon of the First Presbyterian Church of Bordentown and president of its Women’s Service Guild. She was a member of the PTA and past matron of Bordentown Chapter 257, Order of the Eastern Star.
   She graduated from William MacFarland High School.
   She is survived by a daughter, Janet E. Murphy, and a grandson, William J. Murphy, both of Medford; and cousins.
   Funeral was held at Huber-Moore Funeral Home with the Rev. Kimberly B. Long, officiating.
   Burial was in Bordentown Cemetery.

William J. Jones
   MANSFIELD – William J. Jones, 75, died Oct. 11 at Virtua-Memorial Hospital of Burlington County, Mount Holly.
   Born in Philadelphia and formerly of Holland, Pa., he moved to Columbus a year ago.
   He worked 23 years at Rite Aid Pharmacy in Richboro, Pa., and previously owned Richboro Pharmacy for 13 years.
   He was an Army veteran of World War II, having served with the 10th Armored Division. He was a member of Newton, Pa. American Legion Post 440 and Delaware Valley Chapter of Veterans of the Battle of the Bulge.
   Brother of the late Joseph Walker, he is survived by his wife, Ann I. Jones; a son, William J. Jr. of Boston; two daughters and a son-in-law, Marian and Matthew Bell of Medford and Catherine Jones of Cary, N.C.; a sister and brother-in-law, Eleanor and Paul Weaver of Allentown, Pa.; nieces and a nephew.
   Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Bordentown, with the Rev. Michael Burns, pastor, officiating.
   Burial was in Forest Hill Cemetery, Philadelphia.
   Arrangements were by Peppler Funeral Home, Bordentown City.

Willitts Toth
   FLORENCE – Margaret M. Willitts Toth, 85, died Oct. 9 at Virtua Health-Memorial Hospital of Burlington County, Mount Holly.
   Born in Florence, she was a lifelong resident.
   Mrs. Toth and her husband owned Toth’s Greenhouses of Florence more than 40 years before retiring in 1987.
   Wife of the late William B. and mother of the late William B. Jr., she is survived by two daughters, Margaret A. Fellnor of Southampton and Georgean Maybury of Florence; two sons, Robert G. and John M. of Florence; 18 grandchildren, including William B. III; 25 great grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
   The funeral was held at Dennison Funeral Home.
   Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Joseph G. Girton Sr.
   BORDENTOWN CITY – Joseph G. Girton Sr., 73, died Oct. 11 at home.
   Born in Bordentown, he was a lifelong area resident.
   He retired after more than 27 years as deputy chief of the Bordentown City Police Department.
   Mr. Girton was a Navy veteran of World War II.
   He was a member of Policemen’s Benevolent Association Local 37, Bordentown Elks Lodge 2085, New Jersey Rifle and Pistol Association and the National Rifle Association.
   Husband of the late Lois P. Girton, he is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph and Nancy Girton of Yardville, Jeffrey and Sandra Girton of Bordentown, Jay of Browns Mills and Jon and Judy Girton of Bordentown; a sister, Peggy Haras of Ewing; nine grandchildren; a great-grandchild; nieces and nephews; and a friend, Betty Nelson.
   The funeral was held at Huber-Moore Funeral Home.
   Burial was in Bordentown Cemetery.

Marinelli
   FLORENCE – Evelyn G. Lengenfelder Marinelli, 75, died Oct. 5 at Fletcher Allen Hospital in Burlington, Vt.
   Born and raised in Philadelphia, she lived in Somerdale before moving to Florence 40 years ago.
   She was an auditor with Pennsylvania Railroad for 20 years and a librarian with the Burlington County Library System’s Bordentown branch for 27 years before retiring in 1991.
   She enjoyed reading and gourmet cooking.
   Wife of the late Harry T. Marinelli, she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Peter A. Bonanni of Ewing; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Harry D. of Florence and Mountain View, N.Y., with whom she lived, and John W. and Cindy Marinelli of Chateaugay, N.Y.; a sister-in-law, Mary Koser of Somerdale; a brother-in-law, Romeo Marinelli of Florence; seven grandchildren, Dominic, Gina, Jeff, Sean, Kirstin, Peter and Amanda; and nieces and nephews.
   The funeral was held at Dennison Funeral Home, with the Rev. Felix F. Venza, pastor of St. Clare’s Church, officiating.
   Burial was in Brig. Gen. William C. Dole Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.

Foulks Mullenax
   FLORENCE – Naomi C. Foulks Mullenax, 82, died Oct. 8 at Rancocas Hospital, Willingboro.
   Born in Burlington and a longtime area resident, she lived 13 years in Davis, W.Va. before returning to Florence three years ago.
   Mrs. Mullenax worked as a beautician 44 years and retired 16 years ago as the owner of Naomi’s Beauty Salon in Florence.
   She was a member of St. Clare’s Church, Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians and the Rebecca Lodge of Davis, W.Va.
   Wife of the late Ralph G., she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Glenn Weber of Lawton, Okla.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ralph G. and Ruthe Mullenax and Arthur W. and Kathy Mullenax, all of Florence; two sisters, Ruth Conley of Barnegat and Mary Paglione of Florence; two brothers, Ralph and Arthur Foulks, both of Florence; six grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
   The funeral was held at Dennison Funeral Home.
   Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Clare’s Church, with the Rev. Felix F. Venza, pastor, officiating.
   Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.

Daniel Hess
   MANSFIELD – Daniel Hess, 81, died Oct. 11 at home.
   Born in Chester, Pa., he was a longtime Bordentown resident before moving to Columbus seven years ago.
   He retired in 1988 after 33 years as a principal engineering aide with the state Department of Transportation. He had worked 20 years with Eastern Construction Co. and at various construction sites in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
   Mr. Hess was an Army veteran of World War II, having served in the 6th and 13th regiments of the Quartermaster Corps.
   He was a Mason and member of the Scottish Rite.
   Son of the late Frank and Grace Hess and husband of the late Mary S. Hess, he is survived by his companion, Karen Bowker of Beverly; a nephew, Gary Gall, and a niece, Gail Gall, both of West Trenton.
   The funeral was held at Saul Memorial Home, Trenton followed by burial in Fountain Lawn Memorial Park, Ewing.
Leon G. Carty
   COLUMBUS – Leon G. "Bud" Carty, 74, of Columbus died Monday in St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne, Pa.
   Born in Fieldsboro, he had resided in Columbus most of his life.
   He was a retired employee of the Church Brick Company.
   Mr. Carty is survived by his wife, Jane "Lundin" Carty, a son and daughter-in-law, Leon and Vivian Carty of Florence, a daughter and son-in-law, Geraldine and Kevin Stanton of Roebling; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary and Robert Wolfe of Whiting, Florence and Ham Giehl of Roebling and Marion Church of Florence; four grandchildren, Scott and Bryan Carty and Todd Henry and Jessica Stanton; and several nieces and nephews.
   Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. today from the Huber-Moore Funeral Home, 517 Farnsworth Ave., Bordentown, with the Rev. W. Garey Hope officiating.
   Burial will follow in the Bordentown Cemetery.
   Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Joyce Ann Pover
   BARESFOOT, Fla. – Joyce Ann Pover, 60, died Sunday at home.
   Born in Trenton, she retired in 1990 after 18 years as a bookkeeper for Mount Carmel Guild.
   She was a member of Barefoot Bay Moose Lodge and Homemaker Society. She enjoyed crafts and bingo.
   Daughter of the late Samuel and Kathryn Decker Vaccaro, she is survived by her husband, Richard Pover; two daughters and a son-in-law, Cynthia and Stephen Metterle and Deborah Pover, all of Bordentown; three grandchildren, Jeremiah, Stacy and Stephanie Metterle; two sisters, and brothers-in-law, Gail and Frank Coulter of Clio, Miss. and Kathy and Vick Wicker of Flint, Miss.; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
   The funeral will be held 10 a.m. today at Hamilton Brenna-Cellini Funeral Home, 2365 Whitehorse-Mercerville Road, Hamilton.

Charles B. Yates
   PRINCETON BOROUGH – Charles B. "Charlie" Yates, 61, of Princeton Borough and Martha’s Vineyard, Mass., died Friday with his wife and two of his children in an airplane crash on Martha’s Vineyard.
   Born in New York City, he received a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from City College of New York in 1960.
   He worked at Circuit Foil (later Yates Industries) in Bordentown, a company started by his father, Charles E. Yates. In 1961, he went to Luxembourg to establish a foil plant in the Common Market, and later opened a foil plant in Silloth, England.
   He returned to the United States in 1967 to run the company as president, with his brother, Craig W. Yates, as chairman. When Square D acquired Yates Industries in 1980, Mr. Yates became vice president of Square D for two years.
   Mr. Yates, D-Edgewater Park, was a state assemblyman from 1971 to 1977 and a state senator from 1977 to 1981. In the Senate, he was chairman of the Joint Appropriations Committee and the Joint Legislative Committee on Ethical Standards. He was known for his work on establishing stricter legislative conflict-of-interest rules, passing the New Jersey State income tax, creating affordable housing, supporting equal rights for women and preserving the Pinelands.
   Mr. Yates received a juris doctorate from Vermont Law School in 1993, where he met his wife, Anya. In 1992, he joined his brother Craig, president of Farmers and Mechanics Bank, as chairman of the bank. In 1997, Mr. Yates and his brother re-acquired the Bordentown factory, now called Yates Foil USA.
   Husband of the late Anya Kwiatkowski Yates and father of the late Elena and William Yates, he is survived by his adopted son, Sergei of Powell, Wyo.; his former wife, Ursula Phaeton Yates of Philadelphia, and their five children, Charles of Germantown, Md., Roy of East Brunswick, Steven of Beaverton, Ore., Valerie of Washington, D.C., and Jessica of Santa Fe., N.M.; three brothers, Craig Yates of Edgewater Park, Roy O’Brien of Bordentown and Paul O’Brien of Burlington; a sister, Frances Yates of Camden, Maine; and seven grandsons, Charles P., Michael, Anthony, Brett, Zachary, Garrett and Mathew.
   Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, Princeton.
   Burial was in Princeton Cemetery.
   Arrangements were by Mather-Hodge Funeral Home, Princeton.
