Frank J. Boccanfuso died Oct. 17 at Capital Health System at Fuld hospital, Trenton. He was 71.
Born in Princeton, he was a longtime Princeton resident and a 25-year veteran of the Princeton Township Police Department.
He lived in Princeton until 1984, moving to Monmouth Junction and Plainsboro and settling in Lawrence in 1988.
A 1947 graduate of Princeton High School, he was an Army veteran, stationed in Germany as a military policeman during the Korean War.
He retired as a lieutenant from the Princeton Township Police Department in 1986 after a 25-year career.
Mr. Boccanfuso owned and operated Princeton Taxi Service since 1962. He also worked 14 years with the Princeton University Department of Athletics and with the university grounds crew.
He was a former member of Engine Company No. 1 of the Princeton Fire Department, Police Benevolent Association Local 130 and American Legion Post 76 of Princeton.
Son of the late Salvator and Maria Boccanfuso, he is survived by his wife, Michelle C. Boccanfuso; son Bryan of Brick; stepsons Cary Koltz of Albuquerque, N.M. and Volker Klotz of Hopewell; daughter Betsy Boccanfuso at home; sisters Jane Perone of Princeton and Philomena Souza of Mercerville; stepsons Nicole, Martin, Jason and Benjamin; and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral was at Princeton United Methodist Church, Nassau Street and Vendeventer Avenue.
Burial was in Lawrenceville Cemetery.
