MOUNT DORA, Fla. — Frances Theodora Onka Zubko of Mount Dora, formerly of Manville, died Friday, Oct. 6, 2000, at home.
Born in Jersey City, Ms. Zubko lived in Manville before settling in Florida in 1982.
She worked as secretary to congressmen from New Jersey in Washington, D.C. She lived in Moscow and Brussels and traveled extensively in Europe, Poland, the Soviet Union, Africa and Israel.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and Edward Onka.
Mrs. Zubko was an artist who won prizes for oil, watercolor, Chinese brush paintings and flower arrangements at major shows in Vermont and Florida.
Surviving are her husband, Leonard Zubko; a daughter, Tanya of Burlington, Vt.; a sister, Rose Marie Onka Petrovich of West Chester, Pa.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Arrangements were under the direction of Central Florida Cremation, Tavares, Fla.
A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated in Manville at a later date to be announced by the family.
