PQM event Saturday
On Saturday, Oct. 28, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Pennington Quality Market is inviting children to its annual Kid’s Club Halloween party. This year it’s like two parties in one.
The four-hour flight feast features two contests, a Pumpkin Painting Contest and a Halloween Costume Contest. PQM will be taking pictures of children’s pumpkins and costumes to judge from later that day. Winners will be chosen in several age categories for both contests, and announced by 3 p.m. at the market. Winners will also be posted on the Kid’s Club Bulletin Board.
For the Pumpkin Painting Contest, the market will supply the pumpkins, paint and decorations, and something to wipe off messy hands when the children are through.
Bring children in costume for the PQM Halloween Costume Contest. Even PQM Associates will be dressed up.
Every child will go home a winner with a PQM Trick or Treat bag filled with Halloween goodies, which will come in reflective safety bags.
Prizes include gift certificates from Jazams, located in the Pennington Shopping Center.
If a child is not a member of the PQM Kid’s Club, sign him/her up on the spot on Oct. 28. For more information, contact Mike Rothwell at 737-0058. Pennington Quality Market is at Route 31 and Delaware Avenue, Pennington.
Toddler’s Village event Tuesday
Ghosts, black cats, witches, and cowboys are just a few of the guests who may make an appearance in this year’s Halloween parade at Toddler’s Village. Ghouls and goblins will strut their stuff on Tuesday, Oct. 31 at 11 a.m. during the childcare center’s annual Halloween party and parade.
"The parade and party are always great photo opportunities for the parents and grandparents," said Mary Innocenzi, executive director, "It’s hard to say whose smiles are wider, the children’s or their parents’."
The day includes classroom discussions on Halloween safety and how to distinguish between what is real and what is fantasy.
