Volunteers needed for annual ‘Fall Cleanup’
The Aberdeen Township Environment-al & Shade Tree Advisory Board will hold the annual "Fall Cleanup at Cliffwood Beach," Nov. 22, 9 a.m. to noon. Participants should meet at the north parking lot (near Whale Creek bridge) on Lakeshore Drive. Individuals are asked to wear comfortable clothing, sturdy shoes, and bring work gloves. The cleanup is in conjunction with the Monmouth County Clean Communities Program. For more information, call (732) 583-4200, ext. 388.
Manna House to hold Fall Fantasy 2000 Nov. 4
Manna House, Cliffwood Beach, will hold its "Fall Fantasy 2000" Nov. 4, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The show will be at the Garden Manor, Route 35 in Aberdeen, and tickets are $40 per person. The event features lunch; a fashion show with clothing from Talbots, Shrewsbury; favors from Clinique cosmetics; and an auction.

Beth Ahm offers family
‘Friday Night Service’
Temple Beth Ahm, Aberdeen, will hold a family "Friday Night Service" Nov. 17, 6:30-7:15 p.m. at the temple at 550 Lloyd Road, Aberdeen. The program is for children up to age 9, and includes singing explanations and interactive projects. It precedes Shabbat services at 8:30 p.m.
The temple’s "Film Festival" begins with Havana Nagila—The Jews of Cuba, Nov. 18, 8 p.m. The film traces the history of Cuban Jews in the early 1900s. The $5 admission includes refreshments.
The temple has installed a lift capable of bringing a wheelchair or person of limited mobility to the level of the bima (altar). The lift was made possible with donations from congregants, and the temple’s Rose Esscott Fund for the Handicapped.
