Brookdale Community College’s paralegal studies program has been approved by the American Bar Association (ABA).

"The approval of this program by the ABA further illustrates Brookdale’s commitment to serving the diverse educational needs of the community," said Brookdale President Dr. Peter Burnham.

"With the growing number of educational opportunities accessible to students, we feel it is of the utmost importance to offer the best programs available. This distinction from the ABA is a testament to the excellence and value of our Paralegal Studies program," Burnham added.

As an ABA-approved paralegal studies program, Brookdale is now in compliance with the stringent guidelines of the ABA. In order to meet the requirements for approval, the library legal collection was enhanced, computerized legal resources and courses were added, the entire program and individual courses were re-evaluated and improved, model career and student service plans for students and graduates were developed, internship opportunities were increased and improved, transfer opportunities were enhanced and the program director established national, state and local liaisons with legal and paralegal education and professional associations.
