Elmyria Scott, 78, died Nov. 15 at Park Place Center in South Brunswick.
She was born in Evergreen, Ala., and lived in New Brunswick from 1951 to 1997. She moved to South Brunswick three years ago. She was a lab technician with E.R. Squibb & Sons in New Brunswick for 24 years before retiring in 1984. She was a member of Sharon Baptist Church, New Brunswick. She was a secretary and former president of the Willing Workers, and a member of the Nurses Unit and the Sunday school Parent-Teacher Association, all at the church.
Six brothers and sisters and a son, Woodrow Scott Jr., are deceased.
She is survived by her husband, Woodrow Scott Sr.; a daughter, Brenda Fisher of Somerset; three sons, Larry Scott of Tallahassee, Fla., Allen Scott of Lithonia, Ga., and Steve Scott of New Brunswick; a stepson, William "John" Brown of Trenton; three sisters, Domeris Cyrs of Kileen, Texas, Clara Herbert of Detroit and Glennie Harrison of Highland Park; four brothers, Herbert Rankins and Oferris Rankins, both of Pensacola, Fla., Theadous Rankins of Detroit and Henry Rankins Jr. of Montgomery, Ala., and nine grandchildren.
Services were held Tuesday at Sharon Baptist Church, New Brunswick. Burial was at Franklin Memorial Park Cemetery, North Brunswick. Arrangements are by Anderson Funeral Service, New Brunswick.
