On Tuesday, the Burlington County Scholastic League held its annual fall banquet at the Cherry Hill Hilton, honoring all the First-Team All-Star selections from Burlington County.

On Tuesday, the Burlington County Scholastic League held its annual fall banquet at the Cherry Hill Hilton, honoring all the First-Team All-Star selections from Burlington County.
As always, the local teams were all well-represented.
In the Liberty Division NBCRHS’s forward Amy Hoyer earned First Team honors for girls varsity soccer. Her teammates Jennifer Usas (fullback), Peggy Greene (halfback), Denise Teasenfitz (sweeper) and Suzie Wichtel (halfback) made the Second Team but did not attend the dinner.
From Northern’s football team Derek Bane (offensive tackle), Brandon Marlin (defensive end) and Ray "the Animal" Apice were First Team Liberty Division selections.
Northern’s boys’ varsity soccer stars Rob McMullen (forward ) and Ross Greene (defense) were also honored at the dinner.
In the sport of girls’ varsity tennis, NBC’s Caitlin Crawbuck (first singles) was a First Team Liberty Division selection. While her sister, Devin Crawbuck (second singles) was selected to the All-South Jersey team. NBC’s Thomas Hanson was a First Team all-star in cross country.
In the Freedom Division, Florence’s Lauren Mangus (attack), Monica Carlani (attack) and Jessica Fitzpatrick (defense) were all First Team selection’s in field hockey. Bordentown’s Molly Toth (defense) was also selected as a First Team all-star field hockey player.
Florence’s Ryan Pallas (defense) and Adam Borota (forward) were selected as Freedom Division First Team all-stars in boys’ varsity soccer. While Heather Lynch (forward), Kristen Kinock (forward-midfield) and Mandy Zacharkow (defense) from Florence’s girls’ varsity soccer team were also honored at the dinner.
Florence’s C. J. Kessler (defensive back), Brooks Dowling (running back), Nick Czepiel (defensive line), Rich Bergeron (linebacker) and Bordentown’s John Brodowski (wide receiver), Anthony Fasanella (offensive line), Andrew Brown (offensive line), D. J. Wirth (place kicker), and Ralph Carthan (Defensive line) were all First Team Freedom Division selections in varsity football.
In the Patriot Division, Bordentown’s Danielle Burns (a midfielder) was a First Team selection for girls’ varsity soccer while Bordentown’s Kevin Kennedy (sweeper) made First Team honors for boys’ varsity soccer.
"Each athlete was awarded a plaque and a good time was had by all.
According to NBC girls’ varsity soccer coach Terry Jennings, a delicious chicken breast dinner was served as the main course and there was cheese cake for dessert.
Previously such dinners had been held at the Woodbine Inn, however this year’s dinner went over very well at the Cherry Hill Hilton. So, maybe future banquets will be held there.
