Brendan Glennon, Jersey City, a pipe major with the Hudson County District Pipe Band, performs at the "Kirking of the Tartans" at the Saints Steven and Paul Anglican Catholic Church in Matawan Saturday. The blessing of the tartans is in honor of the feast of St. Andrew, the patron saint of Scotland, according to the Rev. Nicholas Plan, who wore a green beret for the occasion, at which participating clans present a piece of their tartan.
