South Brunswick Baseball Association registration forms for the 2001 spring baseball program have been mailed to the association’s 2000 baseball participants. Forms for kindergarten students have been distributed through the schools. Forms also may be picked up at the Recreation Center at Woodlot Park, Municipal Center, South Brunswick Library, or at Grand Slam. Completed registration forms must be postmarked by Jan. 31. The Kendall Park Skating and Hockey Facility is accepting registrations for the upcoming youth leagues set to begin this week. Players ages 5-8 play Wednesdays in the learn-to-play division. Classes are available at 5:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., but space is limited. Players ages 13-17 also play on Wednesday evenings. Saturday mornings are for players 8-14. The facility is also accepting registrations for the gentlemen’s and ladies’ over-30 roller hockey league, which started Dec. 4. All games are played on Monday evenings.
The Jersey Explosion, a North Brunswick-based girls softball team, placed first in the Fall Fastpitch Softball League. The league consists of 110 teams throughout New Jersey. The players are Vicki Blevins, Emily Cuomo, Katie Dougherty, Sara Dougherty, Jen Olbrys, Nicole Panikiewsky, Danielle Payne, Danielle Sanchez, Jackie Scarpari, Cristina Venetucci, and Kelly Wright. The team is coached by John Cuomo.
