Thomas G. Salay, 90, died Friday at Keswick Pines Health Care Center, Whiting.
Born in Trenton, he was a longtime resident before moving to Whiting eight months ago.
He owned Salay Jewelers, Trenton, retiring in 1981 after more than 40 years.
Mr. Salay was an Army veteran of World War II, having served with the 120th Ordnance Co. during the Philippine Liberation in the battles of Luzon and southern Philippines.
He was a member of Trenton Elks Lodge 105, American Legion Post 93 and Church of the Holy Cross and its Holy Name Society.
Son of the late George and Maria Margicin Salay and brother of the late Anna Kocsho, he is survived by his wife of 60 years, Gene M. Dajczak Salay; a daughter and son-in-law, Joan Salay Janusz and John J. Janusz of New Egypt; a brother, John T. of Las Vegas; two nieces, Barbara Companick of Ewing and Nanette Chiapetta of Lawrence; and three nephews, Leonard Weiss of Hightstown, Frank Dajczak of Lawrence and Jack Salay of Palm Springs, Calif.
The funeral was Tuesday at the Winowicz Funeral Home, Adeline and Beatty Streets, Trenton.
Burial will be in SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Hamilton.
