Naomi Chin, a former Middletown South standout, set a new school record at Stevens Institute of Technology, Hoboken, with a time of 25.23 in the 50 freestyle at the ECAC Eastern Championships at the Goodwill Aquatics Center in Hempstead, Long Island, N.Y., on Dec. 2. Chin finished second overall in the event, and also took third in the 100 breaststroke (1:11.78) and eighth in the 100 freestyle (56.52). Chin, a sophomore, was also part of the school’s 200 freestyle relay team which set a new school record by posting a sixth-place finishing time of 1:44.68. For her efforts, Chin was named the school’s female Athlete of the Week.
The New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA), the New Jersey Football Coaches Association and the New Jersey Scholastic Coaches Association have joined forces to sponsor the fifth annual New Jersey Football Coaches Clinic.
The clinic will be held at the Trump Plaza Hotel in Atlantic City on Feb. 8 (2:30-10:30 p.m.) and Feb. 9 (8 a.m. to 6 p.m.). Attendees will be provided an opportunity to visit an exhibit area filled with items of interest to all football coaches. Included in the registration fee are giveaways and social activities.
