New Year pledge: The best for you from all of us

Another year is coming to an end. With 2001 on the horizon, many people will spend the next few days looking for ways to improve themselves during the upcoming 12 months.
At the Register-News, it is not much different. We will be searching for ways to improve and to better serve you, our readers.

Another year is coming to an end. With 2001 on the horizon, many people will spend the next few days looking for ways to improve themselves during the upcoming 12 months.
At the Register-News, it is not much different. We will be searching for ways to improve and to better serve you, our readers.
But it is not a task we can undertake alone. We value the input of our readers, and we will continue to work at strengthening the bond between the newspaper and the communities it serves.
During the year 2000, the Register-News introduced several new features, including "Pet Appreciation" and "Here’s The Story" for your reading pleasure.
In the year 2001, we hope to feature photos of pets who need adoption from the Burlington County Animal Shelter and photos from local amateur photographers. We also will run "Pet Appreciation" when we collect enough photos to do so.
It is our belief that a community newspaper should involve the community. We urge you to join us in making The Messenger-Press a strong voice for local residents.
Feel free to call our office at (609) 448-8145 and suggest ideas for stories. Suggestions don’t have to be news related, either. Maybe you have an interesting neighbor with an unusual hobby, or know a child who excels in art or music.
Perhaps there is an issue about which you feel strongly. Letters to the editor are encouraged. They can be faxed to (609) 448-8044 or sent by e-mail to [email protected].
We would like to be able to have our staff members cover all events. Unfortunately, this is not possible. But that doesn’t mean we are uninterested. Nor does it mean your information cannot be used.
Organizations, community groups and schools are invited to send announcements, news, notes or photographs of events. Mail can be sent to P.O. Box 1449, Hightstown, NJ 08520; e-mail can be sent to [email protected].
By working together we can make the Register-News better in 2001. The bottom line is: If it matters to you, it matters to us.
For our part, we will remain committed to providing the best possible coverage of news, personalities, social events and sports in Bordentown City and Township, Fieldsboro, Florence, Roebling, Springfield, Chesterfield, Mansfield, New Hanover and North Hanover.
We hope you will join us. And we hope you have a healthy and happy new year.
