Magliacano and Chanin

Orlando Magliacano
   Orlando Magliacano, 79, died Wednesday at Somerset Medical Center.
   Born in Newark, he lived in East Orange before moving to Hopewell five years ago.
   He was a retired manager of the Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co., Montvale.
   Son of the late Louis and Angela Esposito Magliacano, he is survived by his wife, Katherine Testa Magliacano; two daughters and sons-in-law, Maria and Brian Gage of Hopewell and Anna and John Barlow of Hoboken; and two granddaughters, Alexandra Gage and Sophie Barlow.
   Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Cromwell Memorial Home, 71 E. Prospect St., with the Rev. Ralph Stansley, pastor of St. Alphonsus Church, officiating.
   Burial will be private.
   Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. until service Saturday at the funeral home.
Paul D. Chanin
   Paul D. Chanin, 75, died Jan. 1 at John F. Kennedy Medical Center, Edison.
   Born in Newark, he lived in Linden and Clark before moving to Monroe in 1997.
   Mr. Chanin founded B&P Packing Co., Newark.
   He was a Marine veteran of World War II.
   He was a member of Masada Lodge 51, F&AM, Temple Beth, Clark, and its men’s club. Brother of the late Ben and Harry, he is survived by his wife, Phyllis Koplin Chanin; a son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Susan of Titusville; and two grandchildren, David and Rebecca.
   Funeral was Jan. 3 at Temple Beth. Mourning period was observed Jan. 3 at the family home and Sunday and Monday at the home of Scott and Susan Chanin.
