Township Council fills board vacancies Tuesday

Zoning and planning boards will meet for the first time in 2001 next week.

   Six veteran members were appointed to the Zoning Board of Adjustment and the Planning Board by Township Council in one of its first official actions following reorganization this week.
   Township Council made the appointments at its conference meeting Tuesday night.

   At the Zoning Board of Adjustment, veteran members Mark Sebastian and Jane Thompson were reappointed to four-year terms as regular members, expiring in December 2004. Mrs. Thompson completed a four-year term on the board. Mr. Sebastian is returning to the board after a one-year absence. He served from 1996 to 1999.
   Mr. Sebastian, who lives on Harmony Avenue, works for the state Department of Transportation. Mrs. Thompson lives on Pine Knoll Drive. She is retired.
   Veteran board member Lisa Hosfield was reappointed to the zoning board as Alternate No. 1, for a two-year term ending in December 2002. The Tompkins Place resident is the founder and director of "Simply Inspirational," which provides classes and seminars in motivation.
   Township Council returned veteran members Sarah Crowley and Thomas Wilfrid to the Planning Board as regular members. Their four-year terms will end in December 2004. Mr. Wilfrid is a former Township Councilman who served on the Planning Board during his term in office, from 1996 to 1999.
   Miss Crowley lives on Carver Place. She is a partner in the Princeton law firm of Skey, Dumont & Matajek. Mr. Wilfrid is a resident of Cold Soil Road. He is the vice president for academic and student affairs at Mercer County Community College.
   Mr. Wilfrid is currently serving on the Ewing-Lawrence Sewerage Authority’s board of directors. He plans to resign from the ELSA board. It is not possible to serve on ELSA and the Planning Board simultaneously.
   Elizabeth Chace Donahue was reappointed to a two-year term as Alternate No. 2. Her term will end in December 2002. A Balsam Court resident, she is a part-time fitness instructor at the Princeton YWCA, Princeton University and Momentum Fitness.
   Mayor Pam Mount was appointed to the Planning Board for a one-year term as the Class I member. The Class I member is the mayor or his or her designee.
   Municipal Manager William Guhl was named to a one-year term as the Class II member. The Class II member is an official of the municipality. Mr. Guhl served on the Planning Board as the Class II member several years ago.
   And Councilman Mark Holmes was named to the Class III position. The Class III member is a member of Township Council, appointed by the council. The term is for one year.
