Family saddened by loss of summer program

In reference to your article of Feb. 1 concerning the Allen-town/Upper Freehold Sum-mer Camp, we are writing to express our disappointment in losing our children’s only local summer recreational program. Our children have been involved in the camp as campers and volunteer junior counselors for 10 years now. It has been a wonderful experience, especially under Eileen Kuzma’s supervision.

Unfortunately, now it seems that the growing youth population of Allentown will not have this highlight of the summer to look forward to. We hope that this program can be saved. We are sure that if the problem is financial, parents would be more than willing to pay an increased tuition, as the price has always been extremely reasonable.

Thank you for reporting on this important issue. It is not only our concern, but also that of many of our friends in both Upper Freehold Township and Allentown. We believe, with a little cooperation, this program can and should be saved.
