Local man indicted for attempted murder

Also faces aggravated assault and weapons charges in connection with October 2000 incident in Washington.

   WASHINGTON — Thomas LaSalle, formerly of the 100 block of Wyndham Place in Robbinsville, was indicted Feb. 21 for the attempted murder of his wife in October.
   Mr. LaSalle also was indicted on aggravated assault and weapons charges, according to the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office.
   Washington Township police arrested Mr. LaSalle on Oct. 16, 2000. He is accused of repeatedly stabbing his 29-year-old wife, Angela, in the chest during an argument in their Foxmoor home late that evening.
   Ms. LaSalle is undergoing rehabilitation. Officials from the prosecutor’s office said her condition remains serious.
   Assistant Prosecutor Stephanie Katz presented the case to the grand jury.
   Mr. LaSalle was released Oct. 27 on $150,000 bail. If convicted, he could face a maximum sentence of 10 to 20 years in prison.
