Carl R. Wallace, 82, died Wednesday Feb. 21, at St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick.
He was born in Perth Amboy, and lived in South River for 35 years before moving to Monmouth Junction in 1995.
He worked in the shipping department of General Cable Corp. in Perth Amboy for 38 years before retiring in 1981. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving in the 4th Armored Division. He was a member of the South Brunswick Senior Center.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Kovacs’; a son, Carl R. Wallace Jr. of South River; three daughters, Claire Cohen of Bridgewater, Carol Montauk of East Petersburg, Pa., and Kim A. Wallace of Monmouth Junction; two brothers, Russell Wallace of Green Valley, Ariz., and Phillip Wallace of Avenel and six grandchildren.
The funeral was held Friday Feb. 23 at 9:15 at the M.J. Murphy Funeral Home, 616 Ridge Road at New Road, Monmouth Junction, followed by a 10 a.m. funeral liturgy at St. Cecilia’s RC Church, Kingston Lane, Monmouth Junction. Burial was private.
